Crazy Tacos in Meh-e-o -Aug 18th
Monday-
We walked out the door after lunch, and after I said a prayer with safety for the day, he said "Safety? Nah" the proceeded to trip on the way out almost getting his 4th concussion of the mission.... (he didnt actually get a concussion tho)
We went out to the river and skipped some rocks!
Spent some Library time,
Had dinner with the Stark's. Aswell as hanging out at the Nickle's with their bonfire, and the Kozak's!
Tuesday-
We both were tired all day, and I took some needed naps during some longer drives.
We were at good ol' Timmies, and this guy walks up to us (im thinking that being out in public has for once actually been useful) but actually, he just tells us the tap water in Drayton is at some serious levels and dangerous to drink... minor issue..
But we went to Walmart and got some bottled water to be safe, even tho we got the power of God on our side!
We had a good lesson with Elizabeth, and had sis. Nickle call in to bear her testimony. It went well! (Not sure if her situation will ever allow her to be baptized, but you all know im just a fiend for numbers)
A lot of unsuccessful stopbys north of town, on the way got stuck behind a road line painter... and had dinner, with ourselves, because the members canceled.
Did some more stopbys on a street, and did a member lesson with the Noad's (who are related to the Noads that were back in Strathcona!!)
Wednesday-
We had Bro. Seely call us the day prior to help a another member move. At 9am he picked us up and we helped an elderly sister pack up some of her stuff!
We had lunch with Bro. Seely, and got to know him. After we went back to our house, and did personal study.
We headed to District Council and in the church parking lot was Bro. Seely, his trailer went off the curb and popped (randomly) and he called his friend in the city to help. We went into the building for our meeting, and soon followed the member and his friend, in which we showed him some family history stuff, and Bro. Seely showed him the church.
After District Council, we went outside and they were still there talking. As we passed, they asked for a Book of Mormon, and got it for them and Elder Cillero talked to the friend (John) while I talked a bit to Bro. Seely. We both agreed that the tire popped so that his friend could learn more about the church and Jesus Christ.
As me and Cillero got in the car, and realized if we didnt do that service, then none of it would've happened, as we wouldn't have had that member trust!
In the Zone Chat, we're playing a game thats like hunger games, but with our Weekly goals! And if we hit that goal, we can either gain a heart or take someone else's heart..
With John, we hit our Lessons With Members Participating (LWMP) goal, and as a sister took one of my hearts, I instantly took her heart, and killed (its a game) her off... SUCCESS
We then sent in a miracle audio (because we failed the video 50 times) and the sisters immediately sent in a miracle video with the beginning hashtag of #ThanksElderDabling (in a VERY sarcastic voice)
After all that, we went to knock a door, and Cillero almost died and said "where'd the curb go?" I absolutely died laughing at that...
We headed to dinner w/ the Callahan's, and had a party with their 3 grandkids and 5 dogs... I also got to talk about 3d printing 😁
Thursday-
Not a lot of exciting things in the morning. We had our Warming Hearts service, we Sweeped and mopped the floors as perusual, except we had Meta AI make a "Hunger Games" book, we got to about chapter 10... and its not bad... hit the climax at chpt. 7, but its still pretty good for AI.
We were doing Weekly planning when we had this guy call us, and we read the BOM with him... turns out Elder Andersen has been teaching him for over a year and forgot to send the dot to his next area. It also counted as a find in the area book, but we ain't counting it towards our numbers.
We later had a lesson with the old lady named Barb, nothing special with the lesson.. we also "forgot" our Book of Mormon at her house... so maybe she'll read🤷♂️. We also had Katie Nickle there, who leaves on her mission at the beginning of September!
We then went over to the Nickle's for dinner! And remember that time a few weeks ago that we had a member lesson with the Nickle's, and I told them my favorite icecream flavor is White Chocolate Raspberry... and how you can't get it in Canada....
I was proved wrong, you can get it here, when you have a Bro. Nickle make it fully from scratch... Best Icecream I've had in Canada, and a very good Homemade Icecream too!
(Step up dad, I know you have an icecream machine, and i know you feed the missionaries... Step up!)
Friday-
We had a fun Friday! We had to pack to go to Edmonton, for Mission Conference and we also spent some more time sleeping from Cillero's PCS (Post-Concussion Syndrome).
After lunch, we did some stopbys, and before going to our lesson stopped back at home for Elder Cillero's nap time. We had a great lesson with John, the member referrals from Regan Seely. Talked a lot about a lot, but covered it well, and he should be coming to church!
Got dinner at Subway, and rushed out of the city to make it to the Ed North Stake Centre for Vehicle Inspections, which turned into a mini Zone Conference with how many people were there!
After we went to Namao's place and did a sleepover!
Saturday-
We woke up, got ready, and headed out to the Bonnie Doon Stake Centre, we got there an I got to see many people! Literally everyone..
We got in there eventually took a picture, and got to shake hands with Elder Ulysses Soares! We also got to hear from Elder Mendenhall & Elder Goury of the Canadian Area Presidency!
Elder Soares talked about the importance of staying focused on the work infront of you.
"Adam fell that men might be; and men are that they might have joy." (2N2:25)
After the meeting, all the missionaries hangout for a bit of time outside and eventually left. We dropped off the Namao Elders, and started our journey back home.
We got home, did some studies and went to eat with the Wolsey's, and actually shared a message this time. Then some knocking of a street, and back home for the night!
Sunday-
We went to church, our friend John went there. And he stayed for 2nd hour which talked about D&C 88... bro loved it.... he'll probably have a testimony on D&C before he has one on the Book of Mormon... lol
Later in the evening we had a lesson with Daryl.. it went good, not sure how much got through to him, but it was good.
