How to Burn Down your Apartment 101: Friends and Churros Edition

How to Burn Down your Apartment 101: Friends and Churros Edition

Hi! :)

This week it happened..

If you can believe it, it's Monday! Again.. which means you get another email, and I have to go through another week :(

My goal is to send an email out each week without fail.. but if you all get bored of my emails, then let me know. Because 104 emails is a lot of typing... don't ask me how many I've done... I don't want to know.

Anyway back everyone's favorite day of the week, Monday! Where we didn't have district sports till around 2pm.. which I thought was a nice change for that day. As it allowed me to do some emailing and shopping done in the morning without being late to something...

I also got my Package! (I feel like I said this in my previous email..)
All thanks to Elder Freeman & Sister Frahs..

Tuesday.. it's weekly, and it's our service..
Guess what!? We had our weekly service!!! (Wow)
I got to peel carrots for 2 hours.. so when I get home, if anyone wants to pay me 13.50/ hour to peel carrots... I'll do it!

About an hour into to it, I started thinking..
I feel like a carrot
I am One with the carrots

So... I need mental help

Then we gave someone a blessing.. that was fun.. and then we did a member Lesson where I used the force- (I mean) the Spirit to know which lesson to do with them! (It was indeed the right one, and now I have the power of God on my side)

We had a good dinner with the Croft's! And sent some people to the French Elders..

Wednesday, the day we could've had DC..
We walked around..

Thursday! Nah I'm joking back to Wednesday..
We had dinner with the Thompson's!

Then we later back at the apartment we did a short exchange, for the reasons I'm still not sure..
But almost had a lesson with E. Adams, but then he canceled. But he Helped prepare me for the lesson and we went through it together! Elder Adams is such an amazing person and deserves all given to him!

As so, he told me to eat half a pot of rice... and so being the good exchange companion I am, I did so...

At the end of the night Elder Freeman showed up for the exchange with E. Adams & Andersen.

Thursday, for reals
We had some fun street contacting!
Near MacEwan we saw Sisters de los Santos & Kelly.
Then layer we also saw 5 other members around downtown, and a teachers protest (After school hours)..
Lots of fun!! (Still no smilie pictures)
Then we rushed to go pick up the other elders to go to a dinner at the Mo's!!!! LEGENDARY
*with Elder Casell & Johansen

Then some later fun / a waste of time of walking from the apartment to the car 3 separate times, in a span of 15 minutes... I'm skilled!

Friday! Or better known as ZONE CONFERENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was fun! For various reasons..

I got to see Elder Willie (MTC comp) & met Elder Wilde (a friend's MTC comp)
Aswell as talk with the other missionaries, meeting Sis. Frahs and taking some photos :)

Overall great day!

Then the other elders took OUR (sharing) Car. So we had to take the busses down to our dinner (45 minutes) away..
(Even though there were trains that would've been less confusing...)

And that dinner was with the Pitcher's, who also gave us a ride home so we would have had to wait an hour for the busses.. *cough cough* Train system *cough cough*

Saturday was a really good exploring day!
We went to a park that we thought would be more used, but it was still covered in ice & snow.
So on our way back, we walked across a bridge over the massive river here, then hiked up the hill and walked back across another bigger and longer bridge!
Then continued to walk around the legislative building and Downtown.

We had dinner at the apartment *chefs kiss*
Gave Elder Adams some dad tax (he's not my dad, stranger danger) of my chicken dinner (I'm also being scammed of my money)
Then we did some late night calling, and called someone named Boe, who was previously a member but left (I think, I'm going off the limited info that I am still retaining in my little mind of mine)... so that's cool!

Sunday! We didn't go downtown as timing was into a kerfuffle, but it was fast Sunday so we had snow earlier dinner. Did a blessing for Sister Nichols & Gould, who couldn't get any other elders of their district to go.. and we went there, and got Oil!!!

Then comes the fun stuff....
In the night, the other Elders wanted churros. But left for a dinner, and so put us in charge... (going great already, I know)
We started heating the oil from the said member above. And then it lit on fire...

As the next step in the process, we take pictures from 7 different angles.

Then figure out how to put it out, (for some reason we were really focused on the smoke alarms... not sure why, but I did disable them)

Anyway, if any mission president goes asking, it was all Elder Pace. I just helped put it out.

Also we need a new pot and towel..

Anyway, we didn't burn the apartment down and only inhaled a bucket load of smoke... so you could say I was smoking on the mission..??

Then the elders got home, so we made cookies, and ate them during FHE

We always get those fun bonding experiences!!

***For those who want the explanation on Sis. Frahs (my mom) here it is:

She is assigned to CEM but had to get reassigned for visa wait, and got the honor to serve in the ABQ mission in my home ward for 1 transfer. So my mom saw her a lot from church or feeding the missionaries, but when she came to the house for dinner, I was there (spiritually) with my cardboard cut out! Ta-da!

Things Happened/ Grandpa will like my photos!! :)

Things Happened / Grandpa will like my Photos!!  :-) Hi again, this week was an adventure! Almost of a life time! Because I will be back! MARK MY WORDS  Monday- Not much happened, I was recovering from the sickness last Sunday. And it was p-day with no sports happening.  But we did have dinner with the Lee's! Tuesday- We had interviews with the mission president at the stake centre that was 30 minutes away, but there was a Chick-fil-A on the way so we carefully and tactical planned our route to go to Chick-fil-A before the interviews for lunch. Had interviews, President's favorite Ice-cream flavor is Rocky Road! And on their mission board I found someone who served in Albuquerque back in 2010! We then had dinner with the Salter's! Bro. Salter is a funny guy, saying that butter is bears grease and honey is bee barf! Then went to the Rec Centre to play some floor hockey! Wednesday- We had District Council of all guys! (The sisters left our district) Then we helped with some...

Pots, Pots, and more pots....

Pots, Pots, and more Pots...   Hello wonderful Americans,   I'm realizing I'd rather be learning Samoan, then be here in the cold.. This week hasn't been all that exciting until we get to the weekend. But for now, the beginning just had some lessons, more snow, more cold, some member dinners and such. Normal missionary stuff in the Great White North. With all the snow, roads are getting slick and parking lots just have crunchy snow in them. But yet I have not seen a single snow plow truck yet, which is quite surprising. I'm also finally starting to get into being a missionary, as it doesn't feel like I'm struggling to get through each day anymore. It honestly feels like it was only 2 or 3 days ago that I sent my last email. Which is good, and hopefully it will speed up to months instead. So far this week I've been to 3 baptisms!! Neither of them I would've actually gone to, because they're not part of my area. As for the title, I've done lots of ...
