Uh, good luck
Well, this is definitely better then last time. But also very long, so if you don't like my long and exciting emails... then you'll have to suffer as you recieve them every week.
But I am going for the General Conference prayer style: Excessively Long
Still not sorry (I had an absolute blast writing this, you'll find my jokes pleasing)
We went out to Tanner Camp (an old scout camp that was bought by the church), and did archery and Axe / Tomahawk throwing, and made some fun videos with Elder Hawkins! Maybe one day they'll be on the He Is Peace FB page. But Tanner Camp is also right next to Wabamun Lake, so we went fishing a bit and waded about 100 ft into the lake (it's not swimming my feet were touching the floor). Afterwards we went home for a 5pm dinner, with the McGill's, and had Meatballs & Rice.
We headed over to the church for Basketball night and got to talk to the whole family including the Sister Missionaries, Farris & McKee!
Headed home, and Dwindy called his family, and told them 'I am Cool' 😎 (I'm back Baby!!!)
Also ate a Macadamia nut & White chocolate cookie... let's just say I'm not gonna eat another one..
Tuesday-
Started the morning with Lunch, had double patty burgers! Very delicious, but we went to help Patriarch Wolsey clean his garage (he does it once a year) they got us sandwiches and Lemonade. So I was a little stuffed, but we did help out a lot.
From that service, we went to another service helping out sis. Christensen neighbor with her yard work! And after an hour or 2 of that we left and went straight to dinner with the Salter's and had really good enchiladas and Rhubarb dessert!
After we came home, and watch Game 6 of the playoffs with Al & Cathy, but there won't be a 7th game with the Florida Panthers winning the Stanley Cup 😢 (I FULLY blame Hawkins for that one)
Wednesday-
Welp, another relaxing day in the books! Never got a chance to go into Pros Clothes... so we just slept around all day! Nah I'm kidding... mostly.
We did not actually touch our pros today, as we were out SERVING THE LORD (hallelujah) through the Members! We did our thing, like waking up on time, and then we went over to Sis. Holt's and did gardening for about 2 hours.. and let me ask you a little somethin' Have you ever smelled fermented coffee grounds?!?
BECAUSE THEY SMELL TERRIBLE! (just a smigin' worse than peanut butter)
Anyway, after I had a flashback moment (of when someone put a spoonful of peanut butter on my leg) I went back to my roots and kept gardenin'
We eventually finished today's amount of work, and went to help Sis. Christensen with gardenin', but she wasn't home 😕 So we went to the Shop (a building with a lot of issues..) to help clean out the water buckets... (leaking issues..) I got soaked.
We got lunch at Wendy's! And saw a white guy with a sense of humor having fun being manager, first time in Canada!
Afterwards, we headed to District Council and gave my first Training, (and I didn't even use PMG or BOM!) purely from a random talk I found! But it seemed to go fine.
We got to go home an study for a bit, then we headed to dinner with the Davidson's and he talked about getting us to meet with people that promised to him they'd get baptized! But had a good dinner with a Rhubarb spongecake!
To finish of the night, we went to Sis. Christensen's and helped her gardening and she gave us some cake that she made!
Thursday-
The morning was pretty usual of what it's been for the past little while, like another dream that I can't quite remember except for some faces of which I haven't ever seen before.. and well showering, that's a good thing to do!
We also went to workout, except no one really ever taught me how to do stuff, besides my beloved 'arm pull down machine thingy' (that's what it's called) So I was trying to follow some things on a image on the wall, but it just turned into me doing radom stuff that is definitely injuring my body more then strengthening it. 😬
Anyway after that Disco Fiasco, we came back and did some studying, which involves me searching for random topics on BYU Speeches to find random old stuff that my dad told me to look into, so here are some topics I searched: Landscaping, How to find a wife on the mission: 101, and President of the BYU Alumni Association. One of those is a lie, I'll let you find that one...
Out of those lovely topics, I found some good talks like one from Dallin H. Oaks, as BYU President, back in 1977. It wasn't on the topic of landscaping (sadly), but it said it once, and the overall talk had some great stories and some amazing insights not just as the President of BYU, but as a very spiritual man (I'd hope). If you see a link following, it's either a scam for your social security number or I was too lazy to put it in.
Well, got a call and it wasn't one we wanted to get, but we can only move forward from this point. Brother Olsen (91) was moved to the hospital, were not really sure why, but we were asked to go give him a blessing, and so we did! And we then talked to him for a bit and 'I'm doing alright for a old guy' so after a bit of talking, we had to go, but told him we'd visit him the next day if he was still there!
We went ahead with Weekly Planning: The Purge. We dropped like 2 of our 5 yellow dots, along with 1 or 2 green dots for being too busy. We also found some random dot, that 100% belong to a different area, but they (the missionaries) didn't respond to our text... so we have a new friend!
From henceforth we valiantly went off through the tall villages and stopped our horse & carriage at the abode, of Sir Eklund II. For we had a great Feast abound us from our distant travels, we fæst on Enchiladas from the south, and great Orange Tang from the distant relics of a 'YSA event'.
(That took too much brain power, I got like .25 cells left now) We went from the Great Feast to the Bennett's to do not 1 but Too baptismal interviews, and I also looked up LOTR / Hobbit movie locations... as Gpa. Bennett was talking about New Zealand.
We came home, and I did my Journaling and ate more Rhubarb dessert with a little bit of icecream.
Friday-
We finally made it to the weekend! Except I have to keep working 😞. But the show must go on! (Atleast I'd hope it would, otherwise is would be pretty boring)
We had boygers for Lunch again, and they were delicious again. Then we went out to collect a food order for Selven, so we got him plenty of fruits and vegy-tables to fit to his diet! Then we had to drive all they wah out there, had a small lesson of just watching one of Elder Christofferson's Conference talks, and we then drove allllllllll the way back.
Our dinner canceled... so we went out knocking for a bit, found 0/0 people and so we came back did some shmuddying (also commonly known as 'studying') and went fishing in the rain!
Now I know what your thinking "Elder, you shouldn't be fishing, you should be Finding & Teaching" but let me tell you a little Chinese secret, that I learned from the Wombats..
I can't be Fishers of Men, if I can't be Fishers of Fish
But currently I hold the appropriate title 'Fishers of Sticks' I guess all trees just like me!
Anyway, we then came home and had Eggs for dinner. Gotta get the beach body, just in time for winter!
Saturday-
Okay, so I know that this is already a bazillion words long, but today was a busy day soo.. no promises.
We woke up, as I do, and as most people do aswell; and got ready for a move, of a Pioneer member who will soon be moving into Stony Plain ward. We pulled up and he somehow already had about half of his ward moving it into a semi-truck trailer (people know how to find moving vehicles in Canada..). So we helped for a little bit, but couldn't stay long as we had other things to get to.
We headed back to the Apt. to change into suits, and headed to a baptism at the stake centre (30 minutes drive) but not just any baptism, my first official baptism as a missionary! 14 more and I get some Somoan baked cookies! But ultimately Colten Bennett got baptized with his younger brother soon to follow!
It was about 2pm and we hadn't had lunch yet, so we pulled up to the nearest Popeyes and ate Fine dining with E-Dawg. (First time at Popeyes in 5+ years!) Then we drove back to the apartment, changed again.. and drove (another 30 minutes) to Tanner Camp, did some service and some Hiking of Hoodoos.
We had to then rush back home in time for our Home Inspection, which we passed with Flying colours (besides the dryer lint..) and had a small break before going to Volleyball night, which was lots of fun, but no one really showed up... I blame Weber for that and for Spruce Grove having a ward picnic.
Came home, again and for the final time today. And had dinner which was some Costco Chicken Salad.. and it was pretty good!
Sunday-
Today I went to church! A stake councilor and his son (i think) gave talks, and the Son gave a great talk on Agency, and why we have it as Church Members.
Afterwards we had a ward potluck, and had some amazing food like moose taco salad, and that delicious marshmallow and jello mix stuff!
Well went to visit Bro. Olsen (91) who was still in the hospital to our dismay (we went to the house first, but a neighbor told us they weren't home). When we got there we walked in and saw Bro. & Sis. Olsen, along with Bro. & Sis. Evans and we got to hangout and talk to them for a bit, even mentioned my jaw surgery (I still don't like hospitals, when im old and dying, just bury me in a meadow with some tree seeds!)
After we left, we headed home to do some studying and maybe a little bit of Sunday nap time. Suddenly we saw a bright flash of light coming in from outside, so we both stopped and looked outside, just to hear the LOUDEST thunder i think I have ever heard and it kept going for about 20 seconds!
Had a good FHE with President & Sis. Stott giving their farewell testimonies, and Elder Willie laughing at something with his roommates during FHE.. (I was watching their screen 👀)
Had dinner which was Eggs and a roll (at 9:45pm..)
Spiritual thought! (First one on the Mish)
Isaiah 55:8-9
"8 ¶ For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."
As said, 'It's God's world, and we're all living in it'. The lord works in ways we didn't intended in, and so we must if we pray for something to happen, don't expect money to fall out of the sky, or Jesus Christ and God to appear unto you, but if you're stuck in the ocean, think of a random boat coming to save you, and appreciate the lord for saving you!
