Golf, golf & Canadia
o... it's just you and me, again for another weekly adventure, it's got all the emotions, "enough to make a grow man cry". Also let me know your favorite way to use Ch. 17 PMG in missionary work!
Past-
Apparently they're gonna build a Costco somewhere in Stony! But I probably won't be here long enough to actually go inside it...
Monday-
Today, I spent time outside!
We got up early again.. like 7 30am, it's crazy I even got out of bed. But we drove to a golf course and played 9 holes, now if you truly know me, I LOVE Topgolf (especially when I have a friend's cool membership) but it must've been the Canadian weather, because I wasn't as good at hitting it into the giant non-existent nets on the course..
So I quit like halfway through (im not surprised) and I didnt want to just walk and wait for them to hit the balls, so I went to the Hole / Green, and waited... I should've brought a helmet because on one occasion I saw the ball fly into the air, but I lost sight of it... SMACK!! it landed about 3 ft away from me.. I thought about moving, didnt.
Anyway, using my noggin (that I still somehow have after that) I learned that Satan ain't taking me down that easily or early, so 1-0 me v. Satan :)
Had Jack's, and got a boyger, and got another XL milkshake, with rootbeer flavoring, it definitely wasn't like pure A&W With American Ice-cream, but still pretty good!
Did some shenanigans back at home / trying to convince people over emails to help me with my loneliness once I get off my mission.. I think it's working... but only time will tell!
Then went fishing with the Boys (Seperate from Gang A or B), Wilde & Woolley at Tanner Camp, and I can say OFFICALLY I am a Fisher of Fish, so I can now be a Fisher of Man (singular). With my AMAZING fishing skills that I very carefully learned from my Grandpa, over a decade ago, I have caught my first fish in over a decade-n-half
A Pike (don't ask me for lessons, im already busy doing Ch. 14 101 classes)
Had a delightful drive back to the Church for Basketball night / me just calling family and convincing them to send me things for my birthday 'cough cough Aug 10th cough cough'
Tuesday-
Got up and going to help Sis. Holt, with some more manual labor. And with us was also Sis. Andrews, a service missionary. She gave us lunch afterwards with Salmon salad sandwiches (think Tuna Salad Sandwiches) and chicken noodle soup!
Afterwards wr headed straight over to Sis. Christ (hopefully that isn't sacrilegious to say, it's shortened form of Christensen) to do some weeding. Then she goes to sleep, since she had just driven up from Raymond, and we got home today some studying.. until about 20 minutes later we get a text from her to meet her at the Shop. Essentially we spent a lot of time helping her make signs, and I also got the chance to make my own sign!
She bought us Chinese food, afterwards we went to Safeway and she bought us flowers to give to an inactive member in our building! Goated
Wednesday-
Ehhhh, ummmm, sooo. We didnt really do anything, like we did the regular stuff for example: wake up, brush teethies, study, maybe sleep more, shower.
But I guess, we went to District Council, that was pretty normal, the official Mission President switch happened, so the Stott's are probably sleeping for 10 years now.
We went to dinner, with the Leguet's then we went to do some knocking around the neighborhood, and ran into these 2 people who were packing some stuff up, but the conversation ran for about an hour! But he actually wanted to read the book of mormon, and honestly probably talked about everything in every lesson but tithing.
We could've dunked him right there and then, but he also like smoking, so it wouldn't have really worked, especially since he's 7th day of Ventis
Then we had chilled at sister Christensen's and made marshmallows with Noorda and Weber!
Thursday-
I honestly cannot remember what happened in the morning... I don't know if I was just tired, but I don't even remember lunch..
Any-hoo, we got dressed / I was wearing my handy-dandy christmas pajama pants given to me last Christmas (I gave you my heart, but the very next day, you gave it away, this year, to save me from tears, I'll give it to someone special ~special~), and we went to the Mall, and got Dwindy a haircut! 👌 We probably then went back to do some studying.
Then we helped Pioneer load up a storage unit for some members, and they gave us all subway gift cards that work! (American gift cards don't work in Canada, yes it's sucks)
Dwindy was hungy so we stopped at subway for him to get a sandwich, and then we went knocking in an area we were told to try out, and we knocked 2 doors, the it started raining so much it felt like hail, so we ran to the car and waited it out.. after 15 minutes, it was clear, and kept knocking. And the one of the last doors we did we found this guy named Lucas, who grew up Roman Catholic, but didnt agree, so now he's Christian, and willing to meet with us!
Then we had dinner at Quasidallas or something like that, with the Callahan's, very good Burritos!
Then we helped a inactive member who lives in our building, but didnt do much helping to install something, but more talking about how she wants to start coming back to church!
Friday-
Exchanges! I stayed in Stony, while Elder Hawkins came out with me. It wasn't a very exciting day, but it was busy & Productive.
I'll just say some Highlights for the day:
-Got to meet with Aniika today, and taught her how we pray, and invited her!
-Got to meet Robert Wolf, who really likes Honda Goldwing's (motorcycle) and just got back from a 1 month trip of riding across Canada.
Some other weird door knocking experiences (still don't like it, too much work)
Saturday-
Saturday, not really a Productive day...
But a day of things nonetheless, and a bucket load of driving (mightve used all the clicks, but I haven't put them in yet so it's like 'Schrödinger's cat' experiment)
Anyway, we went to a scheduled lesson at 11am (too early), but she wanted to reschedule. So we drove back to the apartment, got our Suits for Zone Conference and headed over to Sherwood (1hr drive), but stopped at Panda to get some lunch with the Riverbend Boys (and girls) including, Elder Andersen, Harris, Atkinson, Welch, Beaumont, Henricksen, and Sister Willardson & Snyder.
It was a good lunch! & only showed up 5 minutes late, to being 15 minutes early to Zone Conference.
Pres. Matheson, essentially said, ditch the FAQ guide, and only listen to the Church Standards (woo!) without actually saying it...
Then after some mingling we hop in our whip and drive 1.5 hours to our dinner (only took a quick snooze, while going 119km / 65mph) [Canada is Slow]
Had a 3 course meal.. very odd.
Then drove back, for another lesson with Aniika, teaching .5 of POS, and 1 Restoration, then she's (hopefully) watching church over zoom!
Tried volleyball night, but it didnt seem like a lot of people, so did other things then came back at the end, and like a whole Vermillion branch of just children come out of the building, apparently there was a good turnout for volleyball 🏐
Sunday-
It was actually a pretty good day, we went to church (only 4 minutes late) and had a good Sunday meeting. We didnt grab bread, as we don't really have anyone to give it too, and we don't need more bread ourselves.
After church, we headed to the Olsen's (hospital room) to find bro. Olsen still there, we talked to him a bit, watched golf with him a bit, then heard that sis. Olsen was also in the hospital.
We found Sis. Olsen in a room, but just a small thing and she's going home that day! We then went to meet Sis. Christensen at sis. Holt's house, without knowing the reason (we do as told, atleast when told by sis. Christensen) and we helped move Sis. Holt's daughter move to Whyte Ave.
We headed off to dinner at the Hughes and then went to help sis. Christensen with some yard work, and eating some smores..
Area: Still Stony
Companion: dwindy
Life dream: find a wife (after, not during, probably)
