Nov 3rd- I'm the New Apostle!?

Nov 3rd- I'm the New Apostle!?

Monday-

Im honestly not sure we did anything today..

Tuesday-
Did another day of a mix of Knocking and Stopbys, non all too successful. Had Dinner with the Perrett's and was able to do some knocking and finding a cool under-highway walkway with some cool art!

Wednesday-
Didn't have District Council, but did have an "Itty bitty District Call" to talk about a Zone Take-Over! Dun-Dun-Dunnnnn!

Did some more knocking 😁 and had dinner with the Stark's at the Church building, did a stopby for a referral... of sorts. Then went back to Connect (hangout) with the Youth!

Thursday-
We did some morning stopbys, as the rest of our day was packed. And it turned out to work pretty well! We were able to get in contact with Nancy Ruiz (Spanish lady) right before she left for Edmonton, and found some days that she's (usually) open!

We also got in contact with Gina stopping by here store! And got a time that we could come back next week!

Had the Warming Hearts service again, nothing really to note with that, we had a good lesson with Elizabeth! (She isn't bored of us yet!)

Did some rough weekly planning...

Got the car cleaned, and packed for Zone Conference! And had dinner with the Willet's! (I got to wave to their neighbor!)

After leaving dinner and essentially hitting the road, we saw a deer use the crosswalk! (What a polite deer)

And we left Fire Valley behind and went off on the Yellow Brick road to Woodbend!

Friday-
We had to wake up early... me no likey.
Got to the Riverbend Stake Centre after a small 🤏 detour.....

Got to see Elder Adams, Elder Miles, Elder Smith, Elder Hill, Elder Neville, Elder Letourneau, Elder Pearce, Elder Freeman, Elder Pace, Elder Stetka, Sister Moss, Sister Nichols, Sister Latu.

We had Pictures and got a few seconds to meet with Elder & Sister Stanfill and Elder & Sister Evanson!

That had some great teachings (sermons, if you will) from them, during President Matheson's "sermon" Elder Evanson (the General Authority) told our Mission President to "Get Lost" 😬 But dont worry, it was just in a role play... they've done it like 5 times!

The actual Zone Conference didnt end till around 4pm, but the last hour was just final testimonies from them, so some missionaries left for Lessons, and prepping a Baptism.

Got my package!

Then had Interviews with Elder Evanson.. and yes I did start the interview with "so.. is this the interview for the new apostle?" And he said "(laughing a bit) yes it is..." then he continued "not that they'd let me do that position, and you wouldn't want that calling this young"

So.. Elder Garrett, I want those donuts... they dont have to be chocolate.

Also if you hear something about me in his next Conference talk... Just know that it was all part of the plan!

But actually it was a good interview! (I still dont know why President chose me tho...)

While waiting, I got to talk to Sister Latu, who's home is Australia but also wanted to go Cold!

Also got to talk more with Sister Moss!

Nothing happened the rest of the day, as we were told to stay indoors after 6pm.. 😞

Saturday-
We did some recalculating of our planning from what we learned from what we learned from Zone Conference.

Then after lunch we headed towards Winfield (a really small town, but has a potentially really good referral), so after searching and correctly guessing here house, pure skillz. We knocked... and she wasn't home :( but her daughter(?) answered and told us to call her later [we forgot...]

Then we drove home, and did some raken service...

Sunday-
Had church.. as I hope you did too, cant be going inactive on my Canadian watch.

Had lunch with the Gorbahn's, which was their Thanksgiving leftovers (they had it the day before with their family, im up to two Thanksgivings this year... better then the 0 last year..)

Did more leafing for Hailey, and found her! First find of the Transfer! (Woot Woot, only 3 weeks in!)

Had a less then fun FHE.. but I did have glow sticks... soooo, I had more fun 😁

Things Happened/ Grandpa will like my photos!! :)

Things Happened / Grandpa will like my Photos!!  :-) Hi again, this week was an adventure! Almost of a life time! Because I will be back! MARK MY WORDS  Monday- Not much happened, I was recovering from the sickness last Sunday. And it was p-day with no sports happening.  But we did have dinner with the Lee's! Tuesday- We had interviews with the mission president at the stake centre that was 30 minutes away, but there was a Chick-fil-A on the way so we carefully and tactical planned our route to go to Chick-fil-A before the interviews for lunch. Had interviews, President's favorite Ice-cream flavor is Rocky Road! And on their mission board I found someone who served in Albuquerque back in 2010! We then had dinner with the Salter's! Bro. Salter is a funny guy, saying that butter is bears grease and honey is bee barf! Then went to the Rec Centre to play some floor hockey! Wednesday- We had District Council of all guys! (The sisters left our district) Then we helped with some...

Pots, Pots, and more pots....

Pots, Pots, and more Pots...   Hello wonderful Americans,   I'm realizing I'd rather be learning Samoan, then be here in the cold.. This week hasn't been all that exciting until we get to the weekend. But for now, the beginning just had some lessons, more snow, more cold, some member dinners and such. Normal missionary stuff in the Great White North. With all the snow, roads are getting slick and parking lots just have crunchy snow in them. But yet I have not seen a single snow plow truck yet, which is quite surprising. I'm also finally starting to get into being a missionary, as it doesn't feel like I'm struggling to get through each day anymore. It honestly feels like it was only 2 or 3 days ago that I sent my last email. Which is good, and hopefully it will speed up to months instead. So far this week I've been to 3 baptisms!! Neither of them I would've actually gone to, because they're not part of my area. As for the title, I've done lots of ...

Then did more service with helping a member of Strathcona move in to a part of town that is not within Strathcona boundaries.. (it's fine, I think) But went to a Peta Bake place which was good! We did some stopbys and got in contact with some people, then had dinner at the Pierson's! Wednesday Honestly not really sure what happened today..
