HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!

 HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!!!

Now you may be thinking,

Elder, new years was a month ago! Are you mentally insane!? (not yet.) Elder, Is it so cold that you typed the title wrong!? (maybe..) Elder! Do you need to go home!? (absolutely not!)

If anyone did think these things, you clearly don't know who I am.

But this last.. Wednesday... or Friday, maybe Sunday was Chinese New Year! So for all the Chinese (Elder Thunell) Welcome to 2025!

And many fun pictures and videos of the multi-stake celebration!

On with the Weekly stuff :)

Starting with Monday, we played Floor Hockey, then went to Tanzen, goodwill, and dairy queen with the sisters for 5+ hours. Then we had dinner at the Loose's!

Then Tuesday was a blur!
We did our weekly service and doing that did not efficiently street contacting at all.. then we had dinner at Chicken Flame.. (lots of things I know..)

Wednesday we our last DC before Transfers! It was definitely less chaotic the usual but did spend the first 20 minutes of district council making pancakes! Yum :]
Our lesson with Aref canceled, and so we were at the church from 2pm to 5pm, as after DC we did mini exchanges! And Elder Pace went with Manderin, and Hobson went with me! Then we had dinner at a members house, talked a lot about skiing and snow boarding. Then we attempted to give a blessing to someone but they never responded.. ;(
Then we had to rush back to the church to exchange back.. we also accidentally had both SIM's.. but they were essentially fine... I think..
(Look at me writing more info 😁)

On Thursday we had all of our 4 lessons cancel on us, but one! And that was Brad. Brad is.. an interesting.. guy.. we walked into the building that we have some other friends in now, and he wasnt wearing pants... but he was wearing socks! (For a short amount of time) but anyway!
Then we went to dinner with the Crawfords and stayed a little too long all because Elder Pace asked them what they played on Xbox.. they really like Phasmophobia and a few other games like Subnatica!
(If anyone wants to play games with me in 21 months time, let me know I'll put you on a list.)

FRIDAY!!!!!!
it was average.
It was snowing nonstop all day and we had plenty of time to go downtown... yay🙃
So as some missionaries, we walked into & around a university to... uh... get to know the area, if we ever  go to ysa.. yes that's the reason (don't tell President, or our ZL's pls)
Then after 10-20 minutes of.. exploring..
We headed back to the towards the church for NEW YEARS!!!! YEAH!! (Sister Raghaven wanted more excitement [someone send this to her] )
The celebration was fun lots of videos and Pictures on the Google Photos!
And then Aref dropped us..😥

Saturday was Amazing
I had bread for breakfast.. Just bread, Canadian rye bread is amazing tho
Then we had a church tour which went well, but we will probably have to pass him off to Southgate.. but he said he wanted to witness a baptism, which there is one on Sunday! (There are MIRACLES)
Then we were some SERVICEABLE missionaries, and shoveled someone's walkways!
Then we did some downtown with the temperature at -11° (honestly not as cold as -20, so kinda warm)
And uh.. spiritual thought... not really lol.. my email ain't spiritual, but they are uplifting.. I hope..
But anyway, while reading chapter 1 of PMG, I saw a Picture of the Tree of Life and the Great and Spacious building. And I noticed something, I saw a landscape that was similar to me.. it was Edmonton! Bonnie Doon is the Tree of Life, a Massive (and I mean MASSIVE) river in between, then a Great and (not very) Spacious Downtown.. (photo at bottom)
Then we went to Viola & Charity's for dinner!

Sunday!
It was fast Sunday! We went to the Baptism, but our friend never showed up.. but we got to hangout with The Manderin, Coranation Park & Clairview!!
Then Elder Pace saw a friend and talked to her more at the YSA thing that had ended right after the baptism, and so I talked to more missionaries! And with a total of 11 sister missionaries!
We had FHE, and the new Assistant is Elder Reich.. w/ Pallo.. the mission is going an interesting direction for the next 2 transfers..

Also Transfer news today, and I'm staying for a 3rd!! And so is my apartment, but our district is getting split up.. :(

But uh some pictures!

Things Happened/ Grandpa will like my photos!! :)

Things Happened / Grandpa will like my Photos!!  :-) Hi again, this week was an adventure! Almost of a life time! Because I will be back! MARK MY WORDS  Monday- Not much happened, I was recovering from the sickness last Sunday. And it was p-day with no sports happening.  But we did have dinner with the Lee's! Tuesday- We had interviews with the mission president at the stake centre that was 30 minutes away, but there was a Chick-fil-A on the way so we carefully and tactical planned our route to go to Chick-fil-A before the interviews for lunch. Had interviews, President's favorite Ice-cream flavor is Rocky Road! And on their mission board I found someone who served in Albuquerque back in 2010! We then had dinner with the Salter's! Bro. Salter is a funny guy, saying that butter is bears grease and honey is bee barf! Then went to the Rec Centre to play some floor hockey! Wednesday- We had District Council of all guys! (The sisters left our district) Then we helped with some...

Pots, Pots, and more pots....

Pots, Pots, and more Pots...   Hello wonderful Americans,   I'm realizing I'd rather be learning Samoan, then be here in the cold.. This week hasn't been all that exciting until we get to the weekend. But for now, the beginning just had some lessons, more snow, more cold, some member dinners and such. Normal missionary stuff in the Great White North. With all the snow, roads are getting slick and parking lots just have crunchy snow in them. But yet I have not seen a single snow plow truck yet, which is quite surprising. I'm also finally starting to get into being a missionary, as it doesn't feel like I'm struggling to get through each day anymore. It honestly feels like it was only 2 or 3 days ago that I sent my last email. Which is good, and hopefully it will speed up to months instead. So far this week I've been to 3 baptisms!! Neither of them I would've actually gone to, because they're not part of my area. As for the title, I've done lots of ...

Nature Walks by the River

Nature Walks by the River Hi.  Invite your friends! (To something, maybe my emails??) Monday We went Thrifting for our District sports.... But we got Costco! Woo! Then went shopping woo! We had dinner at McDonald's and got a kids Happy meal toy which was a Minecraft Bee! Buzz buzz! 🐝 Tuesday We went to a service, and our weekly service had us make cookies and help with pudding! Then did more service with helping a member of Strathcona move in to a part of town that is not within Strathcona boundaries.. (it's fine, I think) But went to a Peta Bake place which was good! We did some stopbys and got in contact with some people, then had dinner at the Pierson's! Wednesday Honestly not really sure what happened today.. But we got Krispy Kreme donuts for District Council  +5 points for District Leader! After collecting the donuts, but before the Council comes forward to decide who has to leave the island...
